Why would one want to indulge in organic gardening?

Organic gardening is the way of growing veggies and fruits with the employment of things only found in nature.

- Organic gardening practices help prevent the loss of topsoil thru erosion. The Soil Conservation Service asserts that a guessed 32 bill tons of soil erodes from US farmlands each year.

- One can simply make compost from garden and kitchen waste. Though this is more time-intensive than purchasing prepared chemical insecticides and manure, it definitely helps to put rubbish to good use and so saves the environment.

- Savings. One does not have to buy expensive chemical manure and insecticides with organic gardening. Many organic recipes for the control of pest and illness come straight from the kitchen cupboard.

- Organic gardening does not use chemicals that will have an inauspicious affect on your well-being. This is particularly vital when growing veggies. Chemical firms let us know that the chemicals we use are safe if used according to direction, but analysis shows that even miniscule amounts of poisons soaked up thru the skin could cause such things as cancer, particularly in kids. On the average, a child ingests 4 to 5 times more cancer-causing insecticides from foods than an adult. This can cause varied illnesses later on in the kid's life. With organic gardening, these situations are reduced.

- Less harm to the environment. Poisons are frequently washed into our waterways, causing death to the local fish and polluting their habitat. Occasionally other plants can be grown as companions to the main crop. An example of this is the marigold, which helps to repel aphids from plants.

- A simple mulch of pine needles will help to suppress the expansion of weeds as well as keeping the moisture in.

- Organic gardening practices help to keep the environment safe for future generations. Don't forget, insecticides contain poisons that have just one purpose.

Remember, pesticides contain toxins that have only one purpose - to kill living things.
