If you were to walk past a street of residential properties, the first thing that would usually catch your eye is the grass. The grass is the introduction to the property itself, and if it is looking dry and brittle, it does not give the property a very good first impression. But before you begin to blame the homeowners for the terrible state of their grass, it may not actually be their fault! If they were not given helpful lawn care maintenance by the person who laid their grass, or even if it was laid incorrectly, this may be the cause for their unhealthy grass. If this sounds similar to your situation, and you'd like to get luscious green grass that all your neighbours will envy, have a think about the following grass seed applications...

Spray-on grass, also known as hydro-seeding, is where seeds are sprayed with a jet sprayer directly onto the soil. This is a much more effective method than scattering seeds by hand, as it is distributed evenly over the soil. Also, because the soil is sprayed directly to the soil, it creates a 'sown-in-lawn', unlike other methods which could mean that the seeds do not take to the lawn.
Another well known grass seed application is called terraseeding (also referred to as raked in grass seed). This involves covering the area with a layer of soil that already contains the grass seeds.
Grass seed wool blankets are another option for lush, healthy lawns. Wool blankets already containing seeds are laid onto the desired area. The wool blankets offer protection for the seeds, and also hold water to help with growth.
If you are in a hurry to get healthy lawns, you can choose instant 'readylawn'. Readylawn does not require as much growing time as other methods, but is more expensive because of this.
There are a number of grass application methods out there, but only a few may be best suited to your lawn. Contact a lawn care professional to meet on site your property so that they can let you know what application is most ideal for your property.
