Why Outdoor Wall Lights Are Fundamental To Good Garden Design

It's a fact: a property with a well-designed, well-maintained exterior lighting scheme will sell for more than it's poorly lit neighbour, and outdoor wall lights are as good a place to start as any.

Then, of course, there's the indisputable fact that good garden lighting will encourage you to make more and better use of your garden., turning it into that often quoted but less often realised 'extra room.' And with the advent of outdoor heaters, you can eat al fresco at any time of the year.

There are practical reasons for installing outside lighting too, not least of which is security. Well placed wall lights will illuminate any dark nooks and crannies where uninvited visitors might hide.

No matter how fastidious you are when it comes to leaf sweeping and patio scrubbing, there will be hazards in your garden - it makes better sense to highlight them now with some well-placed wall lights than to pay your neighbour's legal bill when they sue after slipping down your steps.

You can bring light to any size garden and, whether, large or small, your territory will be far more inviting if you shed some light on it. And, as you're bound to have the odd wall knocking around - even if only those that hold up your roof - you can install lights!

Outdoor wall lights will cheer up the blank brick wall, providing a focal point, as well as transforming your patio or decking to a pleasant area for entertaining or al fresco eating. There's not much you can buy nowadays that will add both style and functionality for such a reasonable outlay.

Despite what the home and garden magazines would have you believe, outdoor lighting isn't just for stylish, well-heeled folk living in Home Counties country homes, it's for everybody who has an outside space to call their own. And, particularly if you're on a restricted budget, a simple wall light or two is a very good place to start.

Defy the night, the winter (and the rain if you have some sort of awning) with the simple installation of some outdoor wall lights. And, one little advertised fact is that, on a long winter's night when you're snug as a bug, a quick glimpse of your illuminated 'estate' through the windows will make it all worthwhile.
