Patio Furniture Umbrellas Unite Shade With Style And Luxury

Patio Furniture Umbrellas are as utilitarian as they are stylish. You can find them in just about any size and they come in different shapes. They come in all kinds of colors of the rainbow and they can even be found made of designer fabrics. Outdoor umbrellas come in single canopy or ones with a tiny canopy above the main one that gives it an elegant look.

Do some research before going to purchase a patio furniture umbrella. Some umbrellas have a crank apparatus that makes the umbrella go up or down and others have a large peg attached to a chain. You insert the peg to make the spokes stay up and take it out when the umbrella canopy is down. Some umbrellas have the ability to tilt so that it will keep even a sunset out of your eyes. Believe it or not there are umbrellas equipped with a remote control.

There are patio furniture umbrellas that have wooden posts and spokes. These are strong yet very elegant in nature. They are also weigh the most of all umbrellas. If you do not have the ability to carry heavy objects you should probably look for an umbrella made of another material that is not as heavy. Remember you usually have to lift an umbrella through the hole of a table to get it into the stand.

There are also aluminum umbrellas that give you that lighter option. The ability to tilt is often built in an aluminum umbrella because it is easy to manufacture that way. Aluminum generally does not rust so it is a safe bet that your umbrella will be able to be used for many years.

Most patio umbrellas have a pole that goes up in the middle and ribs come from the pole with the canopy over top. There is a type of umbrella called the offset umbrella and works well if you do not have a table with a hole in the center. The pole for this umbrella goes up the side and attaches to a freestanding stand. You just place it near the table and it will cover it with sunscreen protection. These umbrellas are very portable and you can use them to cover someone sitting in a chair or chaise lounge.

To keep your patio umbrella in good shape there are few things you will need to do. The most important thing is to make sure it is in the down position if you have a storm or a great deal of wind. Wind can damage a patio umbrella severely and even make it fly down the street. If you live in a cold climate it is advisable to take the umbrella down and put it away during the winter. Store it in an upright position and never put anything on top of the umbrella. If you can put a cover over it, it will stay nice and clean.

When it is time to bring the umbrella back out for summer it will benefit from a cleaning. Just use a damp cloth but if it needs more extensive cleaning you can use soapy water. Do not use anything abrasive on the canopy or other parts of the umbrella. Some canopies or covers can be removed from the umbrella and machine washed. Consult the tag on the umbrella or the directions that come along with it to see if this is possible. If your umbrella is a big one it might be too big for the family washer. You may have to take it to the Laundromat and use a high capacity washer. You can also hose down the umbrella while it is open but do not use a forceful stream of water. Never put the canopy in the drier.

Many stores carry patio furniture umbrellas. Look in the garden center or go to your local discount or department patio furniture umbrellas store. You can sometimes find them in places that sell only patio furniture or in regular furniture stores. Make sure to check online but be careful about the shipping costs. Some umbrellas are heavy and it is more worth it to get them locally than online. Never buy the cheapest one you can find. You will be disappointed in it and it might not look good enough to keep for next season.
