Reasons Why The Japanese Maple Bonsai Will Always Be Seen As One Of The Most Well Liked Bonsai Species

Of course there are a nearly endless range of different Bonsai to select to cultivate. Your personal preference when buying Bonsai is naturally to firstly go for somehting that catches your eye. But beware! There are many factors that should prejudice your call including your ability level, experience and general period of time you are prepared to spend on caring for your Bonsai.

This Newsletter will showcase what I believe to be one of the most wonderful kinds of Tree to cultivate for folk of any level. Be certain to follow these tips and get the most out of your Japanese Maple.

For a Bonsai enthusiast who has experienced growing one or two plants from starter kits and have just developed adequate abilities in this oriental art form, growing a Bonsai Japanese maple could be the proper next step. There can be great satisfaction and a superb sense of achievement in having the ability to plant a seed and then watching its expansion progress from the 1st day. The drawback, of course, is that you will have to wait years to see the most significant results of your hard work, but those results can definitely be worth the wait.

Step 1, of course, is to gather or buy some Bonsai Japanese maple seeds. Pinch off the wings of the seeds and then let them dry on a bowl or plate for 36-48 hours. Next, place 20-30 seeds in a bowl filled with cool water and soak them for 72 hours, replacing the water each 24 hours. After the prescribed soaking period, discard all of the seeds that float. Place the remaining seeds on brown paper towels and then carefully pat the moisture from them till they are completely dry.

The very next step is to put about 20-30 seeds into a tiny Ziploc bag, dispel the air from the bag, zip it closed, and place it in the vegan drawer or lettuce crisper of your chiller. Ensure the temperature is at 37-40 degrees F, and keep the seeds there for 90 days. Take the baggie out each week and then delicately tap off the condensation from the inside of the baggie. When you give it to the fridge, lay it on its opposite side. After the 90 days are up, you are prepared to eventually sow your seeds! And you can start looking forward to years of truly cultivating a Bonsai Japanese maple and seeing its beauty grow day after day.
