Lawn Dandelion Weeds In Your Garden

A beautifully tended garden is a delight to eyes, be it a small lawn or a large rolling greens, it is surely a soothing area. However, the garden requires a lot of careful tending and efforts. In order to expert the eye the weeds can be instantly spotted when you know how to find out the good and bad plants in your garden. The appearance of your garden is blemished when there are weeds growing in it and specially the nettles and dandelion weed. Speaking broadly, there are two common type of weeds found in most lawns which are perennial and annul weeds.

The annul weeds seem to grow quite fast and they can complete their life cycle several times in a season. Moreover the seeds might also persist in the soil. These can be plants such as Great Plantain, White Clover, daisies and even dandelions and docks. However the perennial weeds often have long tap roots that can grow to unreliable lengths in the soil.

They can even be the spreading root type of system which can spread allover the garden. This means that such plants can send out their shoots all over the area where they spread. Some examples of such weeds can include the pearlwort, mouse-ear chickweed, speedwell and even the sea milkwort. These types of weeds generally have small leaves and they can also have tiny hair on them.

The Burdocks and Dandelions are however exceptions. Although they fall into the category of lawn weeds they are often used as food or in medicines while they also draw away several insects which destroy the crops. The healthy turf often grows in a manner which fills up all the bare areas and also shades the garden soil. The areas which are left bare are a prime location for these weeds to grow.

Therefore these areas should be always covered with grain straw which is actually an excellent mulching agent until the turf grows and fills the areas. However without proper sunlight the weed seeding would not be able to survive. So, as the grass starts growing longer enough to be cut you can use the lawn mower which should have sharp blades. The other best way to control growth of dandelion weed or other type of weeds is by using herbicides. These herbicides are often absorbed by the leaves and it helps in destroying the weed plant and prevent from growing.
