Add Year Round Appeal With Metal Yard Art

Metal garden art adds the final touch to any yard. Even the most uncompromising gardening purists have been seen to softly sneak a piece or two into their yard. Due to the number of artists working in the field and so many different materials to pick from, your choices are limitless. Regardless of your taste, you will find at least one piece of metal yard art to provide year-round color and personality to your garden.

Steel is the most popular choice in metal garden decor since itis affordable, versatile and simple to use. It is utilized to make garden stakes, garden sculptures, wall art and metal yard decor like lanterns, bird feeders and wind spinners. Steel can be used in its natural state, varnished, painted or left to rust. Some artists even fuse rusted metal with treated metal for pieces that have a very unusual look. For larger more contemporary pieces, corrosion resistant stainless steel is used to build stunning, architectural pieces.

Some of the most creative and whimsical works of metal yard art I have ever seen are made of recycled metal. Recycled steel oil drums or tanks, discarded cycle or trikes, broken tools and nuts and bolts, these all provide the raw materials for the innovative metal artist. A rusted oil drum is incarnated as a happy pig, while a broken rake becomes a bird.

Copper is also popular in metal garden art because it is beautiful, durable and adds style to any garden. If allowed to oxidize it will age gracefully into a natural weather worn green patina. It can also be protected with a clear finish to keep its bright, shiny look. Copper sculptures, garden stakes and wall art add a touch of class to any decor.

For the classic look put in a bronze garden sculpture. Bronze sculptures have been around for millennia and have been constructed to honor fallen heroes, leaders and even saints. In modern times they include more playful subjects like children with their pets. Bronze statues remain popular nowadays because they are classic, timeless and can last for generations.

Metal garden decor adds beauty, charm and whimsy to any garden. Whatever your preference classic, contemporary or just playful, metal garden decor will warm your heart even on the coldest winter day.
