Varied styles work better on different people reliant on how your body is built and if you have problems with your tissues. Only you may know if that might be have happened to you and what those issues are for you. You may have sloped shoulders and on that shoulder shape a raglan sleeve woul not be the best look. One side of your body won't be the same as the other side.
If that is the case you'd need to knit the right side and left side of the sweater to deal with the differences in the left and right sides of your body. The center front and center back of the sweater are the same with the changes being done to each side. It is like you'd be figuring out for each side separately then combining them making the change and connecting at the center front and center back to have the sweater fit.
It's a bit more planning but the final result is completely worth it because of the fit and how you feel when wearing your sweater or looking at the person you gave the sweater to enjoy your present. Often I had to do a right and left side of a garment when I was planning garments for individuals. Such a tiny thing often but that difference can make a real difference in the way the sweater fit, felt and looked on the person.
If you've got a difference in your body but had to settle as you had to buy commercially made ready to wear, you might be used to the fit on one side not being your best so this could be a new idea for you to knit to fit right and left or whatever other body issue you may experience in your knitting career.
