Making And Presenting Bouquets

The term bouquet has been derived from French and means a floral arrangement. It involves arrangement of flower clusters in varied ways, after which they can then be wrapped up and presented as gifts for specific occasions.

Bouquet making is an art that need enormous patience and dedication to acquire and practise. It is also called floristry and includes artistic floral tapestry by using leaves, flowers, herbs and stems.

The first step in bouquet preparation is that of choosing every single flower that can be used in the bouquet and then cutting them to the right length. Then the withered leaves are removed and a particular floral pattern is created, after which they are clustered and wrapped.

The flowers can be assorted in different patterns depending upon the occasion; however every florist has his distinctive style. The abundance (or dearth), as well as the market value of flowers in a specific season also plays an important role in formulating the design of the bouquet.

It is also quite important to understand that the meaning of flowers changes across cultures as the same flowers can symbolize different things in different cultures. Therefore, a bouquet must be selected wisely if you want to present it to someone who hails from another community.

However, there are a few flowers that have similar meanings across different cultures. For instance, you can always gift red roses to your beloved, without thinking about her cultural background as red roses have come to symbolize love in cultures all over the world.

Bouquets do not last for a very long time. The flowers dry up soon, and so it is advisable to keep them in water-filled vases, so that they can last a little longer than their usual span.

It is very convenient to purchase bouquets, and all you have to do is step into a local florist shop and tell about your tastes and occasion, and the florist generally will come up with the ideal bouquet. However, if you do not have enough time, you can opt for making an online purchase instead of walking to a florist store.
