Memorial Day Barbecue

Here it is, more than midway thru the month of May. Its difficult to credit that Mother's Day has been and gone and now Fathers' Day is a fortnight away in mid-June. Naturally, between these family holidays is an example of the best barbecue holidays of the year: the long Memorial Day weekend. The ideal time to herald the start of summer fun. For many people well spend the weekend making an attempt to get out of doors as much as feasible, providing the weather cooperates naturally. Perhaps well get to go sailing or fishing on a lake or sea. Or perhaps get out and take a pleasant hike in a State Park. Some will make the maximum of the long weekend by going away for a trip to the sea and spend the weekend enjoying the beach. A large amount of folk will select to just stay local for the holiday weekend since its a wonderful time to kickback and just spend a while hanging out with relatives and buddies. And theres a lot to be related for staying local - you may save lots of money on gas and hostels.

And you wont have to cope with packing and traveling in traffic either. For simple fun at home its a great time to break out the classic backyard family games like badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, and water pistols. If you are sufficiently fortunate to have a pool, thats even better. Or you can just pump up those great new inflatable pools, hop in and enjoy as much clean air as you can. Seriously, after running around all week its actually sweet to keep it so simple as possible. And whats a Memorial Day weekend without a massive barbecue? Perhaps you can cook up some hotdogs with sauerkraut, huge luscious burgers and cheeseburgers, or griddled teriyaki tuna steaks. Then you can't forget some ears of sweet corn-on-the-cob and pieces of juicy fresh melon to serve on the side.

And the more you can cook outside on the griddle, the less you'll have to scrub up in the kitchen.

So keep your weekend as relaxing and delightful as possible by purchasing your food and toys before the weekend arrives. Dont forget to test the fuel on your griddle too. If you get the errands out of the way then you wont have to cope with spending your whole Sat. in the stores. Instead, you may be resting in a lounge chair in your yard.
